May 19-22, 2008 Exploring St. Louis Tour We will have a 3 night 4 day adventure that will include 3 nights at the Drury Inn in Forest Park opening March of 2008 11 meals and all the attractions Grant's Farm where we will board a tram for ride through the Deer Park where we will view such animals as bison, elk, antelope, zebras, ostriches, eagles, kangaroos and many other creatures. We will visit the Clydesdale Stables , home to the breeding and training operation for the famed Budweiser horses. How about a dinner cruise down the Mississippi River enjoying a prime rib dinner while listening and dancing to the Dixieland music with great views of the St. Louis skyline. Missouri Botanical Garden ranked among the top three botanical gardens in the world we will board a tram to view the gardens - the English Woodland Garden, a Chinese garden, the Kemper Home gardening Center, and the largest traditional Japanese garden in north America. October, 2008 TULSA TOUR - On the Tulsa Tour we will start our day off with a tour of a family-owned company that has been in Tulsa since 1927 making wonderful hand-held pies, whole pies, biscuits, cookies, crumb crusts, frozen dough, frozen cakes, donuts and dessert items. The Bama Pie Company is in more than 20 countries, with one location in Tulsa. November, 2008 OKLAHOMA OUTLAWS AND FALL FOLIAGE TOUR - Join us for an action-packed day of historical law and order. It's your chance to ride along with the likes of Belle Starr, Heck Thomas, and Bass Reeves. Laurence Larry Yardon, co-author of "100 Oklahoma Outlaws, Gangsters and Lawmen", will be our guest guide spending the day with the Horizons Club members. Larry will discuss outlaw hideouts and other locales along our route, as well as answer your questions about Oklahoma crime history. He studied under William Settle, a Jesse James scholar, while attending the University of Tulsa, which influenced Larry to become a lifelong student of American history, especially in the Southwest. We will have lunch in Ft. Smith and will visit the National Historic Sites, which will include seeing the remains of the original 1817 fort on the Arkansas River. One of the highlights is the two-story barracks from the second fort, which became the Federal Courthouse for the Western District of Arkansas in the early 1870s. Inside is the restored courtroom of the famed "Hangin' Judge" Isaac C. Parker, and the dingy frontier jail aptly named "Hell on the Boarder." On the site grounds are Judge Parker's restored gallows, and the original Commissary Building - a major military supply center in the 1950s.
